Maggie Creshkoff uses a kickwheel to make pottery from local Maryland clay.

Each pot is brushed with cobalt slip to form the traditional blue design; each is glazed and single fired in an oil-burning downdraft kiln that she built herself; each piece is unique.

Celebrate weddings, anniversaries, retirements, births and leavetakings of all sorts with a piece of custom lettered pottery.

Rusty Angels

The Rusty Angel series is a marriage of materials: rusty metal and native clays, both exposed to wind, water and fire. They serve as reminders for those unregarded moments, icons for the everyday, mute parables for the beauty and sorrow of the decay that inevitably comes to us all.

Muddy Maggie's Menagerie

Sugar pigs, piggy banks, penguins and salty sheep shakers and turtle banks... evolution is never-ending (though some would question the intelligence of the design) from the mud at the Backlog Pottery.
